The Left Attendant General, General Qinglei, whose full name is “General Qinglei of the Left Attendant of the Thunder Sect”, is an important deity of the Thunder Sect in Taoism. He is a subordinate of the Thunder Grand Master (Thunder Sound Pu Hua Tianzun) and ranks second in the Thunder Sect. His status is higher than the thirty-six generals of the Thunder Sect.

In the Taoist pantheon, the Thunder Grand Master has three major disciples: the Thunder Total Commander (the eldest disciple), the Left Attendant General Qinglei, and the Right Attendant General Shi Lei (Zhang Zhongxiong). These three are not included in the thirty-six generals of the Thunder Department and are the direct confidants of the Thunder Grand Master.
